Typical Ecuador Field Course Schedule
Day 0 Arrive Quito. Meet at Plaza Foch in Quito. Students book/spend night at local hotel/hostel.
Day 1 Meet and travel to Santa Lucia. Afternoon walk around autoguiado trail if time. Ice breaker activity.
Day 2-4 Ecology and conservation of the cloud forest environment – introduction to tropical plants/ vertebrates/invertebrates/conservation issues.
Day 5 Students present project proposals- staff assess proposals and allocate projects.
Day 6 Test first thing. Project work.
Day 7 Project work and optional visit to waterfall – swim. Caption competition.
Day 8 Project work and optional visit to waterfall– swim. Photo competition deadline.
Day 9 Project work. Football friendly match. Quiz night.
Day 10 Summarise and present project findings.
Day 11 Depart Santa Lucia arrive in Quito in the late afternoon. Students book/spend night at local hotel or hostel.
Day 12 Fly home or onward travel.
